Five Things You Can Do to Say Positive

Five Things You Can Do To Stay Positive During Difficult Times

I know it can be difficult to look at the bright side when there are so many uncertainties, struggles, and misfortunes in life, But by doing a few simple things, you can help lift your spirits and the help spread the love to others as well.

1. Count Your Blessings

Think about all the good you have had in your life and  write them down to be a daily reminder.  Be grateful that you live in a country with many freedoms and liberties, and pray for those who do not.  Look back at where you were days, months and years ago and see how far you have come today.  Be amazed at what you can accomplish.

2. Organize Your Thoughts on Paper

Our heads are often swarming with anxieties, regrets and daily tasks that need to get done. Getting those floating thoughts out of your head and down on paper can be a great way to relieve stress, let go of grudges, and organize your day.  Once you have the negative thoughts written down, let them go.  Hanging on to them will not serve you in any way.  When your mind isn’t filled with unmanageable clutter, you will be able to focus on living your best life.

3. Create a Positive Habit

Whether it’s introducing a regular exercise routine, picking up a hobby, or getting more organized, you will create a feeling of well-being that will snow ball into other positive seeking behaviors.

4. Smile

Even when you don’t feel like it, smiling is a great, instant mood stabilizer.  There is scientific evidence that suggests the act alone of smiling promotes good health and happiness.  When you smile, dopamine, endorphins and serotonin are released in your brain giving you the warm fuzzies, and likely increase your positivity the rest of the day.  Also, like yawning, smiling is contagious so send a little happy someone’s way.

5. Bless Someone Else

Take some time to reach out to others around you who may be in need.  Do some volunteer work, help a neighbor with their groceries, or check in on the less fortunate and offer aid when you are able.  Being a blessing to others will boost your happiness and will help put your own life into perspective.

Optimism is a great magnet. If you stay positive, good things and good people will be drawn to you.

Crystal Kiefer

I am a Professional Organizer who believes that clutter and disorganization involves more than just the physical things we see around us.  I understand how the environment in which we live, the people we share our lives with, and the emotions that come along with it, can have a direct affect on how we see and deal with clutter and organization.

So, I will be sharing more than my expertise in organizing.  I will also be blogging about struggles I’m facing in my own life, thoughts on anxiety and depression, faith, self-care and home renovating and how they can impact organization in our daily lives.  My hope is to help others facing similar situations obtain clarity in their own lives.
